Cadavia didn’t start in a boardroom. It started on a trail, with a bottle I couldn’t reach and 800 kilometres left to walk.
To understand what we make, it helps to understand where it begins. It begins on the Camino de Santiago. But it doesn’t end there.
In 2010 I walked my first Camino, from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Fisterra. Walking, simplicity, movement, small practical problems repeated a thousand times a day, and the strange way a long journey on foot changes how you experience everything. That’s the territory we design for. The Camino is just where I learned to see it.
The problem
Carrying water isn’t the same as drinking it
A bottle strapped to the back of a pack technically solves the problem of carrying water. It does not solve the problem of drinking it. If reaching it means stopping, twisting your shoulder, or taking the whole pack off, you’ve built friction around something that should be effortless. I tried almost everything on the market. Every one of them interrupted the walk.

How we build
Tested on the trail,
not in a lab
Long-distance walkers are ruthless product testers. Something clever in a shop can become irritating after 20 kilometres. Something simple that solves a small problem, repeated twenty times a day, becomes one of the most appreciated objects you carry. So we test on real trail, over real distance, until a thing either earns its place on your strap or doesn’t. That’s the only standard that means anything out here.

The road ahead
The birthplace, not the boundary
The Camino gives us our first road because it’s an extraordinary place to understand these problems. People walk day after day, live out of a backpack, and face the same challenges over and over. But the ambition was never to be a Camino souvenir brand. A product that proves itself between Saint-Jean and Santiago should make just as much sense on the West Highland Way, in the Alps, or on a trail in Japan. The geography changes. The human needs mostly don’t.
